Sunburst Summertime

Ski buddies Kruser, Dr. Snow, & Alaska Jack circumnavigated Sunburst peak 3812 above Turnagain Pass. Beginning under grey skies, the mountain lived up to its name as the sky cleared to brilliant azure while we pushed upward toward it. Skinned up Center Ridge, and descended to Lyon Creek.
Skinned up the primary drainage of the Pastoral cirque.

We crossed Taylor Creek Pass and hiked the ridge amid the awakening tundra and wildflowers to the Sunburst summit weather station.

Slushy, saturated snow flowed downslope for several minutes after our run down the south-facing slope from Sunburst summit.

Dr. Snow showed us how to milk it.
